Master in Imaging & Radiography Technology (M-IRT)
PROGRAM OVERVIEW
Radiology is a branch of medicine that uses imaging technology to examine, monitor, and treat pathologies or diseases. It generates different pictures of the body components for diagnosis or treatment. Diagnostic tests that are non-invasive are resorted to by medical imaging such that doctors can assess major injuries and diseases without becoming intrusive. Medical imaging has been very significant in achieving better clinical outcomes in modern medicine. X-rays, magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), ultrasonic scans, endoscopy, tactile mapping, and computerized tomography (CT scan) are examples of these medical imaging techniques. The functional imaging techniques, including positron emission tomography (PET) scans, also belong to the medical imaging arsenal. Imaging technology encompasses all technical means of diagnosing and therapeutically treating using radiology.
With the rising standards of medical care and the requirement for improvement, there is a shortage of well-trained imaging professionals throughout the country. These people are needed to improve the quality of health care in hospitals, medical devices and imaging, medical colleges, and academia.
